Do you all know your success metrics? 📈

This is the 27th petals snapshot of spring 2024. And today I want to talk a bit more about success metrics. So depending on what industry you're working in or what your company actually provides and does, generally you've got a metric that measures how well you're doing in your teams. Do they even know what those success metrics are? We were having a exercise yesterday to kind of define ours again and revisit what the important metrics are for our team. You know, if we were providing a self service tool, we even said, ultimately, we don't want to have any queries or inquiries or complaints from our customers. But for like, something like petals app, I've been talking about maybe having a regular pulse of data coming through on a growing amount of teams. So it's not just a one off. You make sure you have more than one and. And you see trends over time. So thinking about, like, what a good success metric looks like for your team is really a good way to get everyone on the same page and making sure that you are watching and observing those metrics over time. This actually comes back to a little bit of the fundamentals of petals and looking at the data over time to make sure that we are operating well as a team. Ultimately, everyone should be working at the fibes all the way across the board, but we know that's not the reality. But we want to be looking at how to get back to the fives every time we take a snapshot. The other thing to consider with success metrics is how you know you're doing well or not. Do you have a visual dashboard to look at this on a live basis? Do you have regular notifications, like on a weekly or monthly basis? Do you have someone that does it for you, like a bit of data analysis? Again, ideally, I want a regular, live pulse of what's going on with that data. So how can I build that? I was talking to Brian yesterday about how we can make sure that there's no problems with our app that we're building and we've got dashboards and notifications in place to understand what's going on with our app. Loads of food for thought around success metrics here.
