It is January 2nd, Thursday of 2025 and it's about 6:40am, temperature probably around minus 2 degrees. It all dropped last night. Proper cold and we're all getting back into the same old routine of work. All that jazz. I'm taking Doug for a getting back into that routine as well. Went for an extra long one this morning in the interest of my hero Adam Buxton. I want to start trying to do some ramble chats as I go for my little walks where it doesn't look weird. It is a empty path, no one around and I can get where we're doing this and he gets to have a little potter sniff and maybe a little doody here too. Yeah. So I'm trying to get back into the swing of work and all the productivity side of things. I've taken a nice long break over Christmas with a few days out and projects going on as well. We did a lot of work in the house yesterday moving rooms around. My office is now the boys bedroom. He wanted some extra space so I've swapped rooms with him. I need to get my rig set up again, but until then it's just going to be laptops at dawn, just wherever it's convenient. I'm at home today. We've got a few Sprint ceremonies this morning. Catching up over the the long Christmas sprint. Need to check in with a few people that are back. Not everyone is. Some people are taking a full week and then I'm off again to tomorrow because we're taking the kids away for the long weekend to safari is called a Rhino Lodge. We're stopping in a West Midland Safari park in some kind of very fancy hotel room with waiter service to the room as well. So it's going to be very fancy and lots of animals and that sort of thing. Nice way to wrap up the Christmas break anyway with the kids before you'll go back to school and work and all that thing. Unfortunately I'm still working today so I'm just getting up and out and head into gear. Hints to Brambling so let's talk about the podcast, let's talk about the content and all that sort of things. I realized last year it was a bit sporadic. I had a long run of petal snapshots which I really enjoyed doing on a daily basis. It was love to get into that frequency of regular daily content. Daily content is hard. Not only do you have to come up with something, you have to record it, you have to edit it, you have to produce it and promote it. Lots of work for one person to do on their own. But I do like the rhythm, I like the regular pulse. And a few years ago I used to do weeknotes. So at the end of the week or over the weekend, compile some thoughts, reflect on the previous week, think about the next week, and it's kind of where Petals came from as well, like the sort of end of week pulse of how have I been, what's been going on, Talk about the five petals factors. And then I'm using that to shape the following week, being a lot more iterative. So I want to get back into that. I want to start doing Petals week notes. I'm talking about all the good stuff that I'm doing personally. We could talk a lot about the stuff that's happening with Petals specifically as well as we get back into that project. And I want to try and pull out some tips and reflections that will hopefully help others. I want you to get something out of this. I don't just want to do it for the sake of me rambling away on a mic, but I do want to mix it up as well. I think when I was doing the snapshots at points, I got a few people on just to shake up the content a bit, like Mike and a few others join me on the conversation. So at least that gives me a week to find someone to join me. Not necessarily have to, but it'll be nice. So that's one thing I want to do this year and get that going again. The other thing I need to prepare for is my house music podcast. House finesse is 20 years this summer, which is mind blowing to say the least. It's been going all that time, a couple of little breaks, but generally that's been running for 20 years in full, in different shapes and forms as well. With the team, we've been thinking about how to celebrate. We want to arrange some events, some live events, some live streams, lots of stuff like that. I'm not going to give too much away just yet because we are still firming it up, but I will also be again going down the content route, recording some interviews with people from around the music scene. A few people have already jumped to the opportunity, which is fantastic. And my fellow DJs and the team are out there mixing it up with the community, so we're hoping to make the most of that as well. And finally, my one big goal of this year is to convert Petals into a product. I realize there's a lot of potential there and I've been very cautious about going down that route just until now, but we've got this web app that's virtually ready to go. When we're happy with that, we can go out and start selling it as an actual product to organizations and companies of all sizes. I know it touches a nerve with small organizations, but more so in larger orgs because they lose that visibility of team health. So what I will be doing is working out how to commercialise the products. I want to be seeking some mentors from the tech industry to understand how best to turn a product into a software as a service and scale it up and be ready for that as well. With all the stuff that you don't necessarily read about or know about. Share Little advice I read a great post on deb2 yesterday on all the hidden costs of running a SARS and I was like, yep, luckily got most of these covered but noted. I'll put a link in the show notes. I'm going to get the petal snapshots going again, but as weeknotes we're going to celebrate House finesse 20 years and we're also going to get the Petticles product launched as a whole. I'm coming to the end of the quiet path, so I'm going to make a notes. Pause it there. I maybe compile these into part of the week notes as well. Let's see.
