The Box Ticker ✅

Today, I talk about the "box ticker" of PETALS - virtually a full sweep of all the factors - as we onboarded our first real user to the PETALS app.

Transcript

It is the 11th petal snapshot of spring 2024 and I want to be talking about one of the box tickers. On Friday, I felt productive. I had teamwork, I enjoyed it. There was a lot of learning. Serenity was pretty good too, a little bit on the edge at points, but that's good for some. So on Friday, I introduced our first real user to our app that we've been building for all these months. It's still work in progress, but we wanted to make sure we had someone on boarding that new tech knew the concept, has been using it in other ways and has a team to experiment with as well. Plus they're really good at providing live feedback when I need it. So yeah, it was really an education as to how the app is going to land. I think they're a little bit underwhelmed by the design, not going to lie, but as a prototype, just looking at the actual user flow, I think it was there, it wasn't complicated. Basically, I did a very quick demo and then I let them take wheel. We both did some screen sharing and it was all recorded for evidence as well. So we've got something to reference to. Later on, they registered and got their organization set up and started creating their teams. But then we identified a few improvements straight away to sort of go, well, if I can just invite another team lead self their team, I'd be banging. So we've got lots of work to do, lots of easy wins, some significant things we need to think about. One thing that did come up was the fact that it would be great if they could import all the data from the Google toolkit or the Microsoft toolkit into the system so that they've got a reference point. The data would obviously be anonymized still, because we want that to be the main key. It doesn't really matter as part of the context, but I think for interest of trends and progress over time, then that reference would be really useful. So that's something we're going to support off the back straight away. Anyway, if you really want to get involved with the app and start playing it with it yourself, you can register now. Petals team app and there's a little form on there that sends some details to me and I'll reach out to you to give you the invite link. I'll be back tomorrow with some more petals or snapshots.
